Event Overview

We are delighted to be back in Edinburgh for the 5th edition of our Transforming Digital Pathology and AI series.

This in person event will aim to discuss, debate and decipher the use of Digital Pathology in clinical settings and the successful implementation of AI aided diagnostics.

Bringing together, industry leading experts, academics and pioneering technology providers this event is an essential gathering for those at the forefront of Digital Pathology development, those just beginning and those yet to start!

With the healthcare industry’s shift towards digital solutions, Digital Pathology and AI have become pivotal in enabling detailed and quantitative pathological evaluations, like whole slide imaging and AI-based analyses. These technologies have allowed us to streamline day to day workflows and explore and extract information beyond human visual perception.

However, there are several difficulties encountered in the practical use of AI in clinical diagnosis. These include the lack of sufficient annotated data for the development and validation of AI systems, the difficulty in defining ground truth data for training and validation as well as the time and financial expense of adoption.

This event is designed to tackle the above challenges head-on. We want to create a space where you can exchange ideas, learn from others’ experiences, and gain actionable insights through real conversations.

Come and be part of a community ready to take on the future of pathology together!

Presentation titles include:

The emerging role of artificial intelligence in pathology diagnostics: A pathologist’s perspective”.

“Computational pathology in routine clinicalreporting”.

“The NHS AI Roadmap and what it means for the NHS  Long Term Workforce Plan.”

Owkin is an AI biotechnology company that uses AI to find the right treatment for every patient. We combine the best of human and artificial intelligence to answer the research questions shared by biopharma and academic researchers. By closing the translational gap between complex biology and new treatments, we bring new diagnostics and drugs to patients sooner.
We use AI to identify new treatments, de-risk and accelerate clinical trials and build diagnostic tools. Using federated learning, a pioneering collaborative AI framework, Owkin enables partners to unlock valuable insights from siloed datasets while protecting patient privacy and securing proprietary data.
Owkin was co-founded by Thomas Clozel MD, a former assistant professor in clinical onco-hematology, and Gilles Wainrib, a pioneer in the field of machine learning in biology, in 2016. Owkin has raised over $300 million and became a unicorn through investments from leading biopharma companies (Sanofi and BMS) and venture funds (Fidelity, GV and BPI, among others).

Led by a team of experts in the fields of life sciences, oncology, pathology, technology, machine learning, and healthcare, Paige strives to transform cancer diagnostics.

We make it possible not only to provide additional information from digital slides to help pathologists perform their diagnostic work efficiently and confidently, but also to go beyond by extracting novel insights from digital slides that can’t be seen by the naked eye.

These unique tissue signatures have the potential to help guide treatment decisions and enable the development of novel biomarkers from tissues for diagnostic, pharmaceutical and life sciences companies.

Source LDPath, a part of Source BioScience, helps pathology labs go digital with its ground-breaking modular digital pathology and AI pathway which helps transform diagnostic processes by drastically decreasing turnaround times from sample receipt to result, to help patients access appropriate treatment as quickly as possible.

We are your guiding hand in digital pathology and AI integration.
